Welcome to my Blog. A place that encourages Zen with a little mix of Fiesty!

When your always looking for the "Next"

Happy Sunday to my beautiful blog fam I just finished my Yoga class was sitting taking some deep breaths and thought of this. Today I have a few questions I'm looking forward to the replies. It's the beginning of September officially school is in session and "Summer" as we know it is gone but how many of you already are...
-preparing for Halloween?
-thinking about your Thanksgiving guest list?
-Christmas shopping?

How many of you have entertained Tax refund talk?  Be honest, no judgment here today is about observation.

I wanted to bring this up because this past week between emails, grocery shopping and running errands for my baby #2 my grandma I ran into in some way, shape or form the above mentioned. When I did it really made my head spin and a sadness came over me. We are like machines, programmed to always look for the "Next".

The next hour, the next meal, the next season, the next event, the next vacation, the next holiday next next next.
Didn't we just get over a long Winter? Weren't we just celebrating 4th of July? Didn't you just get around to buying school supplies? Now your rushing through Labor Day and Halloween? Seriously? Why? What's the rush? What are you running to instead of being still in?

Have you ever even stopped to think of all you would have missed in your child's life if you were so quick to rush through that?
-first smile
-first baby steps
-first giggle
-first tooth
-the attempts at rolling over
-school plays
-sporting events
-first crush

In our lifetime with our children this list is endless and I know that for me I would have been crushed if I'd missed any such events so I'm sure it's pretty much the same for most parents. We want to be present, we want to show support, we want to love and care for our babies. But how true to those values are we in all other aspects of our lives? From the looks of things I see daily in so many different ways I am in doubt.

I'd like to challenge you to try to be in the moment, be present in whatever it is you are doing. Whether it's the laundry or making dinner. If it's watching a television program or getting your nails done. If it's walking to work or to your car....be in the moment. Life is not guaranteed anything can happen in a split second. If and when it does that "Next" won't matter.

Maybe these pictures will encourage you to try my challenge, had I not been in the moment I would have missed them. Hope you enjoy, I'd love to hear from you

Always stress free xo.
