Ways to work through a Hopeless situation

Ways to work through a Hopeless situation

Hope is always available and thank the heavens for this because sometimes I just can't believe what my eyes see. We are tested daily on this planet because we are surrounded by so many different types of people. You see something but you just can't grasp why that happened.

Let's take for example a text I read from one of my sisters shortly after my grandmother's transition. It was sent in a group chat and not really but sort of directly speaking to me. It was one of those jabs people throw out there to see if anyone is going to react, I didn't. It's not to say that for a brief second I could see myself jumping into my car and heading to Brooklyn, but I didn't.

We always have a choice. We can quickly react or simply take a step back. Experience has taught me to take a step back. When dealing with dysfunctional relationships one side or one person should always try to remain cool. And when it comes to dealing with the people you were born into that can be especially hard.

This exchange came from my little sister who really isn't so little she is actually taller than me. Our relationship is difficult, to say the least, and explosive to say the most. The words she used in the text reflected the ever growing discord she feels for me. The sad part was this exchange had my daughter in the mix. If there is ever a universal rule, it's to never put anyone's child in the middle of anything period.

Not to get into too many details the sum of it all was her perspective on my handling certain family issues. As I read this exchange several times and then sat and discussed it with my daughter I came to the following conclusion:

  • hope is always available so I wish for her the day she can take all that energy and do something productive with her life
  • anything can be a miracle if you try to see all the options in front of you
  • what looks like a setback can be a turning point
  • choose to respect even in conflict
  • we always have a choice
  • what you continue to resist only continues to persist
  • if you don't want to learn you can't grow
  • when your intent is not clear, your awareness fails
  • you can't wait for change to happen you have to make it happen
  • you have to be that which you want to receive

I choose to make the most out of this Hopeless situation by focusing on myself and my growth. By investing my energy on serving others and by mindfully communicating with those I come in contact with daily.  I am constantly working on reflecting that which I want to receive, creating my best life. Because we all have choices, it is possible for everyone.

What choice are you making today? Are you waking up your true self? Is your focus on self-care or on despair? What happened the last time you were tested, how did you handle yourself? Share your tips here.

Always stress-free xo,

Mari
